Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) seeks a Civil Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team providing land development, drainage, and structural-inspired civil services. You will design layouts, perform hydrology/hydraulic analyses, and support plaza systems while collaborating with architects and landscape professionals.

This role emphasizes field observation, proposal development, client interaction, and data analytics using Civil3D, XPStorm, and HydroCAD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience or equivalent in a related field.
• Professional licensure required.
• MS or PhD in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university; MS within 4 years if not yet obtained.
• Active involvement with civil engineering organizations (e.g., ASCE).
• Ability to integrate work of several technical experts into an effective solution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals with budgeting and staffing needs.
• Plan work for supervisor approval and manage complex projects.
• Lead technical discussions with clients and external teams.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training.
• Draft complex letters, reports, specifications, and proposals with minimal supervision.
