Job summary

Kleinschmidt is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team to develop designs and provide construction support for dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, renewable energy projects, and stream restorations.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2–3 days in the office and occasional travel; candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred or required.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Experience with civil site development, dam decommissioning/removal, stream restoration, or fish passage engineering.
• Proven ability to coordinate design development and delivery of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and provide construction support for dam removals and embankment repairs.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate design development, technical quality, and project delivery.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and material takeoffs; manage budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with scientists, data analysts, and licensing experts throughout project delivery.
