Job summary

Yuma County Ag is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the Flood Control Division and oversee major civil engineering projects. The role involves directing staff, coordinating design and construction, and guiding budgeting and contracts to support county infrastructure initiatives.

The ideal candidate will hold a PE license (AZ or able to obtain within one year) with extensive experience in flood control, roads, bridges, and project oversight, plus a valid AZ driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and five years of civil engineering experience, including two years in supervision.
• Must be registered as a Civil Engineer by the AZ State Board or another state with ability to obtain AZ registration within one year.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage Flood Control Division and supervise staff and complex projects.
• Assist in capital improvement program oversight, budgets, and contracts.
• Develop plans, specifications, estimates, and agreements for civil engineering projects.
• Coordinate regulatory coordination with federal/state agencies and stakeholders.
