Job summary

Yuma County is seeking a project manager-level civil engineer to oversee CIP projects in the Yuma area. The role includes planning, design coordination, and field supervision of highways, drainage, and related infrastructure.

Under limited supervision, you will lead small teams, perform drafting and computations, review plans for compliance, and liaise with agencies and the public. A Bachelors in Civil Engineering and licensed eligibility are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and five years of civil/ construction experience.
• Public sector experience preferred; background check required; AZ driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans, coordinates, and inspects CIP projects and related civil works.
• Supervises small teams and coordinates field operations with design and field personnel.
• Reviews plans for conformity to codes and standards; ensures project quality and compliance.
• Interacts with engineers, contractors, and public stakeholders; communicates requirements clearly.
• Maintains reports, estimates, and field data; supports project management from planning to construction.
