Job summary

Yuma County seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead staff, oversee complex civil engineering projects, and manage flood control and infrastructure initiatives. The role involves directing planning, design, contracts, and budgets, with liaison duties to federal/state agencies.

Required are a civil engineering degree, PE licensing, 5 years of experience including 2 in supervision, and the ability to obtain AZ registration within a year. A valid AZ driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and five years of civil engineering experience with two years of supervisory experience.
• Registration as a Civil Engineer by the Arizona State Board or another state's board with ability to obtain AZ registration within one year.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and successful background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise staff on complex civil engineering projects in flood control, roads, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Oversee planning, design, contracts, budgets, and program management for capital improvements.
• Coordinate with state/federal agencies, prepare plans, specifications, and project submittals, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide professional engineering guidance, supervise evaluations, and participate in grant applications and reporting.
