Job summary

Salt Lake County seeks a Civil/Environmental Engineer to design and oversee flood control and hydraulic projects. You will prepare CAD-based plans, flood studies, and coordinate with consultants and county divisions on surveys, permits, and budgets.

The role requires a PE license (Utah) or eligibility within six months, plus CFM certification within one year. A background check and RAP Back enrollment are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering is required.
• CFM certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Licensed PE in Utah or must become licensed within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering plans using CAD for Flood Control Ordinance Facilities, waterways, and canals.
• Prepare flood studies and review FEMA-related documents (LOMR/CLOMR).
• Coordinate surveys, land acquisitions, and other services with County divisions or consultants.
• Develop budgets, track projects, and prepare proposals and pay estimates.
