Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced engineer to review and guide design work, ensuring compliance with regulations. You will mentor junior staff, develop technical documentation, and collaborate with sales on proposals for client needs.

The role requires PE licensure with about seven years of related experience and a willingness to travel domestically or internationally. Strong communication skills and CAD proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license with 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency contingent on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Develops technical design documentation and white papers for TKM and publishes designs in journals.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to client RFPs.
• Reviews draft proposals for regulatory and best-practice adherence.
• Meets with clients to review design needs and future requirements.
• Attends conferences to improve visibility of products and services.
