CDM Smith seeks a geotechnical engineer to design excavation, foundations, and geo-environmental projects with high complexity. You will review designs for regulatory compliance and mentor junior staff. Travel 20–40% may be required depending on project needs.

The role requires a PE license, a Bachelor’s in geotechnical/civil/mining/geologic engineering, and 7 years of related experience. Domestic and international travel is possible, with opportunities across diverse geographic locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsabilités

• With general direction, creates excavation, dewatering, foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects.
• Engineering designs of basic to high complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with regulations and signs off on completed designs.
• Performs site reviews to ensure designs align with location specifications.
• Mentors junior staff and may supervise junior engineers on project work.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs.
