CDM Smith is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead Civil/Environmental/Mechanical design efforts in Michigan. You will review designs for regulatory compliance, perform site assessments, and update specifications while developing technical documentation.

You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with sales on proposals to meet client needs. The role involves travel as required and active engagement with clients, conferences and publication efforts to showcase firm capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license required or able to obtain; 7 years of related experience preferred.
• Domestic/international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on duties.

Responsabilités

• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies to align designs with location specs.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documents.
• Submits technical papers and designs for publication in journals.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs.
• Reviews draft proposals for adherence to regulations and best practices.
• Meets with current and potential clients to review design needs.
• Attends conferences to improve visibility of products/services.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff.
• Mentors junior staff and develops them for future growth.
• May supervise junior engineers on project work.
