Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Data Center group in the United States. You will lead site development, feasibility studies, and due diligence across large data center and industrial projects, coordinating with architecture, power, water, environmental and permitting teams.

You will guide site selection, assess risks and constraints, and prepare comprehensive reports for clients and leadership, with a focus on deliverables, budget, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required or clearly on track for licensure.
• 15+ years of engineering experience with extensive site development and industrial projects.
• Strong ability to analyze site feasibility, development assessments, and due diligence.
• Experience supporting site selection, land acquisition, and capital project planning.
• Ability to identify and communicate development risks, permitting challenges, and infrastructure constraints.
• Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and engineering design within civil group.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design modules.

Responsibilities

• Lead site development, master planning, and site selection for large data center facilities.
• Conduct technical due diligence for greenfield/brownfield opportunities.
• Perform site feasibility: grading, drainage, utilities, access, permitting and constraints.
• Assess development risks, opportunities, and fatal flaws of sites.
• Support clients in site acquisition, investment, and development decisions.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, energy/power, water/wastewater, environmental and permitting teams.
• Prepare permitting packages and deliver executive-level recommendations.
• Produce civil construction documents with clear specifications.
