Job summary

The State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, seeks a Civil Engineer VI to oversee construction inspection, quality of materials, and compliance with project requirements. Qualifications

• Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois OR current registration as a Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.
• Six years of experience in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and compliance reviews for Highway Improvement Program projects.
• Prepare Investigative Summary Reports and provide recommendations to the Section Chief.
• Contribute to policy review and procedural improvements within the Bureau of Investigations and Compliance.
• Develop and deliver presentations on engineering compliance, waste and abuse of departmental policies.
• Train staff and participate in annual project meetings and ethics sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
