Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Civil Engineer 3 to supervise field operations within the DOT Division of Bridges. You will oversee construction activities, review submittals, and ensure adherence to NYSDOT standards and specifications.

The role requires a NYPE license and four years of civil engineering experience, with the potential for leadership across complex bridge projects in NYC.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license (PE).

Responsibilities

• Oversee field construction activities, including erection of structural steel and precast concrete units.
• Review project documentation (design drawings, shop drawings, specs, RFIs).
• Coordinate work of other project engineers within FOU-QA and guide REI staff.
• Provide leadership in contractor oversight and quality assurance tasks.
