Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, seeks a Civil Engineer 3 to perform complex bridge load rating analyses, sign and seal rating documents, and conduct field inspections for project scoping. The role supports asset management for NYC's bridge infrastructure and requires PE licensure and a civil engineering background.

Preferred candidates have knowledge of AASHTO specifications and bridge software (AASHTOWare, STAAD, LARSA) and can lead design or rehabilitation

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• New York State Professional Engineer license required; active registration maintained.
• Master's degree in civil engineering may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience as major contributor on complex projects in last three years is preferred for higher assignment levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex bridge load rating analyses and sign/seal Load Rating documents.
• Conduct field inspections to assess conditions and gather data for RFPs.
• Review budget plans for bridge rehabilitation projects.
• Supervise subordinates in technical and administrative matters as required.
• Be flexible to work on multiple tasks based on workload.
