The City of New York, Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges is seeking an Administrative Engineer 2 to oversee environmental compliance across major bridge projects. You will coordinate regulatory reviews, remediation activities, and field oversight to ensure safe, compliant construction.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS Professional Engineer license, 6+ years in engineering with supervisory responsibilities, and relevant certifications (OSHA/HAZWOPER).

Competenze

• Valid NYS Professional Engineer license.
• Six (6) years of full-time experience in civil/environmental engineering, with at least two years in a managerial/administrative capacity.
• Experience handling environmental compliance for large civil construction projects.

Mansioni

• Manage environmental compliance for bridge construction and rehabilitation projects, including hazardous materials and contaminated sites.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies on permits and environmental reviews.
• Oversee environmental assessments and regulatory reviews, including Phase 1/11 ESAs, NEPA, SEQRA, CEQRA, and ULURP processes.
• Lead stormwater management and MS4 compliance, including SWPPP review, erosion control, inspections, and documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor compliance, and represent the agency at project meetings and public stakeholder engagements.
• Manage hazardous waste, chemical inventories, wastewater discharge permits, environmental reporting, and facility compliance.
• Implement agency environmental policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance programs across bridge facilities.
• Administer environmental consultant contracts, budgets, change orders, and payment processing while overseeing bridge coating inspections and environmental remediation efforts.
• Prepare technical reports, regulatory interpretations, and provide solutions to complex environmental compliance and remediation challenges.
