Job summary

Bohler's West Hartford, CT office seeks aSenior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design efforts through planning, grading, utilities, and permitting across the Greater Hartford area.

You will help ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance while mentoring junior staff and delivering high-impact projects with senior engineers and project leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is required or in progress.
• Minimum 5+ years of land development design and permitting experience.
• PE license is beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with junior engineers and designers to provide guidance.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.

Bohler’s West Hartford, CT office is seeking aSenior Civil Design Engineerwho’s ready to take the next step in technical leadership. In this role, you’ll be deeply involved in all aspects of site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting, while helping ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance. You’ll serve as a trusted technical resource for your team and contribute to the success of complex, high-profile projects across the Greater Hartford Metro area.

• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.
