Job summary

Bohler’s Pittsburgh, PA office is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer ready to lead technical design efforts for complex land development projects in Western PA. You’ll guide site design, grading, utilities, and permitting while ensuring quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance.

You’ll serve as a trusted technical resource, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients, contractors, and agencies across high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of land development design and permitting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
