Job summary

Bohler’s Columbus, OH office seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting. You’ll ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance while serving as a trusted technical resource on complex projects across Central Ohio.

You will collaborate with engineers and project leaders, applying your 5+ years of land development experience and AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
