Job summary

RailWorks is a leading rail maintenance and infrastructure solutions provider with over 100 years of experience. The Construction Project Manager will oversee all aspects of multi-phase projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and cost reporting, ensuring goals are met on time and within budget.

Role requires directing onsite staff, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring safety and quality standards, and preparing reports for management and clients.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil/ construction or project management; advanced degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of project accounting, project controls (cost, schedule, change management), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality.
• Exhibits strong management skills and can lead and motivate employees.
• Track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong client relations, influencing skills and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, staffing requirements, and resources.
• Coordinates with department managers to establish work plans and staffing for each phase.
• Ensures regulatory compliance of project activities.
• Verifies estimates based on proposal specifications.
• Leads meetings with project staff and management to discuss project needs.
• Supervises project activities to align with designs, budgets and schedules.
• Assists with resolution of problems during project execution.
• Monitors materials, equipment use and contractual performance; ensures duties are performed as agreed.
• Manages financial aspects of contracts.
• Supervises onsite activities and directs onsite staff.
• Ensures quality, productivity and safety standards are met.
• Provides technical assistance and recommendations.
• Monitors safety programs.
• Represents the company in project meetings.
• Prepares written reports and updates for management, client and project team.
