Job summary

RailWorks is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for a remote position with travel as needed. You will coordinate all phases of heavy civil construction projects, manage budgets and staffing, ensure compliance with regulations, and supervise onsite teams to meet schedules and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, proven cost control, and excellent communication with stakeholders. Travel to project sites will be required as part of delivering successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience in a heavy civil environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Project Management; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of project accounting, project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality.
• Strong management skills and ability to lead and motivate employees.
• Track record of successfully executing projects on schedule and within budget.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
• Coordinates with department managers to establish work plans and staffing for each phase.
• Ensures project activities comply with government regulations.
• Verifies estimates based on detailed review of proposal specifications.
• Attends and/or leads meetings with project staff and management to communicate information related to each function’s needs concerning project requirements.
• Supervises project activities to ensure execution in accordance with designs, budgets and schedules; takes appropriate action to minimize impact of deviations.
• Monitors safety programs and ensures quality and productivity standards are met.
