Job summary

HDR seeks a Senior Civil Construction Inspector to oversee infrastructure projects in Ohio, including highways and bridges. You will document progress, resolve plan discrepancies, and ensure high-quality execution on site.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with project teams, and lead as the most senior inspector when required, maintaining safety and quality across critical facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 8 years of inspection experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to employee‑owned culture and client policies.
• Drug and Alcohol Policy compliance; drug screen may be required.
• Visa sponsorship for U.S. employment is not available now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress on civil projects.
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field representatives.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications and identify conflicts.
• Serve as senior inspector on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
