Job summary

HDR is seeking a Civil Construction Inspector I to monitor and document civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water facilities, and pipelines. You will perform field observations, sample materials, test concrete and soil compaction, and coordinate with the Senior Inspector.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, some construction inspection experience, and proficiency with MS Office. You must pass drug screening and embrace our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• This position requires drug-screening prior to hire and random/cause testing.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure.
• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting cylinders, and soil compaction testing.
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work in progress.
• Perform other duties as needed.
