Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector I to observe and document construction progress on civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, transit, rail and environmental projects.

You will coordinate field sampling and testing and report findings to supervisors. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Drug testing may be required pre-employment and ongoing.
• Local candidates preferred due to site locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress.
• Monitor, record and inspect project progress.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing (concrete slump, air testing, cylinders, soil compaction).
• Receive general supervision from Senior Inspector.
• Perform other duties as needed.
