Job summary

City of Palm Bay is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a Bachelor's in civil engineering and Florida PE to direct the city's engineering programs. The role oversees the Engineering, Inspection, Permitting and Surveying Divisions, and works with contractors, department heads, and the public under the Public Works Director.

Responsibilities include planning and coordinating plans and contracts for streets, drainage, and water systems; reviewing designs; coordinating with Growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven years of civil engineering experience at management level.
• Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Possession of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Directs the Engineering, Inspection, Permitting and Surveying Divisions and guides division heads.
• Plans, directs and coordinates plans, specs and contracts for streets, drainage and water systems.
• Reviews and signs engineering designs and documents to standards and codes.
• Oversees inspection of construction to ensure code compliance.
• Coordinates meetings with Growth Management on land development codes and plans.
• Provides technical leadership during emergencies and disaster recovery.
• Maintains internal controls and reports to the Public Works Director.
