Job summary
Programming.com is seeking a Senior Citrix XenServer & VDI Engineer for a permanent, full-time role. You will architect, configure, and manage Citrix XenServer and Virtual Apps & Desktops environments supporting 400+ virtual desktops in a remote enterprise setting, driving VMware-to-XenServer migrations and image management.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years in enterprise virtualization, strong PowerShell automation skills, and proven uptime optimization.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in enterprise virtualization and VDI
- Strong Citrix XenServer/Hypervisor and VDI experience
- Proficient in VMware vSphere/ESXi migrations
- Experience with MCS/PVS image management is a plus
- PowerShell scripting and automation expertise
- Onsite joining visit required (remote work)
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, configure, and manage XenServer hosts and clusters
- Administer Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops including Delivery Controllers
- Plan VMware vSphere to XenServer migrations at scale
- Maintain golden images with MCS/PVS, automate workflows
- Troubleshoot VDI performance and logon issues
- Manage HPE servers and storage and network basics
- Automate provisioning and patching with PowerShell
- Enforce security hardening and runbooks
