Job summary

Collyde, Inc. is seeking a Senior UC Platforms Engineer to support Cisco telephony infrastructure and the server platforms behind enterprise unified communications.

You will install, maintain, and optimize CUCM, Unity, UCS, and VMware-based telephony environments, while developing automation with Ansible and collaborating with UC Tier II/III and networking teams. The role emphasizes strong infrastructure engineering, virtualization, automation, and troubleshooting to ensure highly available

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience installing and maintaining Cisco CUCM, Unity, and IM&P servers.
• Proficiency with Cisco UCS hardware and VMware virtualization for telephony workloads.
• Experience with Cisco Intersight and IMM.
• Experience administering Linux-based appliance OS for Cisco UC apps.
• Knowledge of SIP, H.323, MGCP, SCCP for telephony.
• Experience with DRS, RTMT, and Disaster Recovery System.
• Understanding clustering, redundancy, and failover for high availability.
• Scripting/automation with Ansible, PowerShell, Python.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Cisco CUCM, Unity, and IM&P servers.
• Perform server builds, OS patching, cluster configuration, and failover setup.
• Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
• Administer virtualized telephony servers using VMware and Cisco UCS.
• Manage Cisco UCS via Intersight IMM, including server profiles and firmware compliance.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate provisioning and maintenance.
• Monitor server health, logs, and performance; troubleshoot incidents.
• Support backup and disaster recovery processes, including DR testing.
• Coordinate hardware and firmware maintenance with vendors.
• Support integrations with SBCs, gateways, voicemail, and call recording.
• Perform root cause analysis and provide escalation support.
• Document architecture, build standards, and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with UC Tier II/III engineers and networking teams.
