Job summary

CompNova Inc. is seeking a UC Platforms Senior Engineer to support Cisco telephony infrastructure remotely. You will install, configure, and maintain CUCM, Unity Connection, and related servers, and collaborate with networking teams to ensure reliability of the unified communications platform.

You will implement automation with Ansible and manage UCS using Intersight IMM, ensuring firmware compliance and disaster recovery readiness. The role starts in October 2026 for a 12-month contract.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing and maintaining Cisco CUCM and Cisco Unity Connection.
• VMware virtualization for telephony workloads.
• Managing Cisco UCS via Intersight and IMM for profiles and firmware.
• Linux-based OS administration for UC applications.
• Telephony protocols: SIP, H.323.
• Experience with RTMT and Disaster Recovery System (DRS).
• Scripting/automation with Ansible, PowerShell, Python.
• Knowledge of clustering, redundancy and failover for high availability telephony.
• Ansible automation for provisioning and config management.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain CUCM, Unity Connection, and related call processing servers.
• Perform server builds, OS patching, and upgrades with clustering and failover.
• Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance tuning for telephony servers.
• Monitor health, uptime, and logs; resolve hardware/software issues impacting call processing.
• Administer virtualized telephony servers (VMware/UCS).
• Manage Cisco UCS in Intersight IMM, including server profiles and firmware compliance.
• Develop Ansible playbooks for provisioning and maintenance across the telephony server estate.
• Coordinate hardware and firmware maintenance with vendors; handle end-of-life planning.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures and test restores.
• Support integration between telephony servers and SBCs, gateways, voicemail, and call recording.
• Document server architecture, standards, and maintenance procedures.
• Provide root cause analysis and escalation for server incidents.
• Collaborate with UC Tier II/III/ SME engineers and networking teams.
