Absurd Ventures seeks a seasoned Software Engineer to design, implement, and support tools for the cinematic content pipeline. You will work with production leadership to define toolchain requirements and deliver robust solutions for ingestion, authoring, and exporting workflows across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional game development experience focusing on cinematic content capture, management, and authoring.
• 2+ years in Unreal Engine, including Sequencer, animation, and audio systems.
• 1+ year desktop apps development in C# or similar.
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse studio staff.
• Comfort with AI coding agents and non-engineers.
• Experience in PC and Mac environments.
• Shipped at least one AAA title in an engineering role.
• Customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Thirst to learn and grow in evolving tech.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production leadership to build, test, and support cinematic tools.
• Guide creative staff who use agentic coding in regular workflows.
• Design and support tools for ingesting, authoring, and exporting cinematic content with stakeholders.
• Participate in technical planning, task estimation, and milestone reviews.
• Provide troubleshooting support during production shoots.
