Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks a seasoned CICS Systems Programmer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise mainframe infrastructure. You will lead large-scale mainframe initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

The role requires 10+ years of CICS programming experience, strong z/OS, DB2 Data Sharing, MQ, and REXX skills. On-call rotation and 24x7 production support are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of CICS Systems Programming experience in enterprise mainframe environments.
• Advanced knowledge of CICS architecture, internals, administration, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on with z/OS, DB2 Data Sharing, MQ Shared Queue Managers, and REXX.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and coordinating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, engineering, and implementation of complex CICS infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale mainframe initiatives from strategy to execution.
• Build and improve highly available CICS environments enterprise-wide.
• Partner with development teams to deliver scalable, secure, reliable solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance and resiliency.
• Diagnose complex issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Install, configure, maintain, and optimize CICS and related system software.
• Contribute expertise in CPSM, DB2 Data Sharing, MQ, and REXX.
• Provide guidance to a large development organization.
• Participate in on-call rotation for high-priority production events.
