Job summary

Valley of the Sun YMCA seeks a Program Director II of Childcare to oversee preschool and school-age childcare programs, ensuring high-quality operations, curriculum alignment, and safety standard compliance. You will recruit and develop staff, manage budgets and reporting, coordinate transportation when needed, and collaborate with the community to expand services while adhering to licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.
• One to two years related experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Clear or acceptable Motor Vehicle Record that meets YMCA standards.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preschool and school-age childcare programs, including developing and monitoring program operations, curriculum, alignment to high-quality standards and best practices.
• Ensures Childcare programs meet community needs, supervises activities, establishes new program activities, and assists in marketing and distribution of program information.
• Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams; onboards and develops them for success.
• Manages staff, including full-time employees, schedules, payroll, and HR needs with the MSO.
• Ensures safety standards and compliance with risk management and child abuse prevention policies.
• Monitors program deliverables and budget; compiles statistics and grant reports; maintains relationships with community organizations.
• Ensures licensing and Department regulations are followed; may serve as branch Transportation Coordinator and drive bus when needed.
• Adheres to boundaries with consumers; attends abuse risk management training; reports policy violations.
