Job summary

Golder Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the daily operation of the Engineering department, ensuring the hotel’s physical structure and HVAC/electrical systems are maintained to the highest standards. This role requires leadership in budgeting, asset management, and safety compliance across all facilities.

The Chief Engineer will manage staffing, train teams, supervise maintenance activities, and ensure energy efficiency and cost controls while delivering guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• Five-year hotel maintenance/engineering experience with two years management experience.
• Proficiency in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, locksmith, refrigeration, chillers and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and verifies the completion of all routine maintenance.
• Prepares annual operating budget for the Engineering Department.
• Monitors the department expenses on a regular basis.
• Conducts asset tours and assesses the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the hotel’s physical structure and equipment.
• Assists in interviewing potential engineering candidates.
• Trains, schedules and reviews hours for the engineering department.
• Performs all administrative duties for the engineering department.
• Maintains organized inventory and tool storage; adheres to purchasing policies.
