Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) seeks a Chemical Engineer to support the Mechanical Project Design group at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant. This role provides process design support for the Lithium Processing Facility project, including flowsheet development, P&IDs, analyses, and reports.

Requires ABET-accredited degree and 10+ years of experience, with ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance. On-site work in Oak Ridge, TN, with pre-employment screenings and potential WSAP requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school plus a minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience including process design.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DOE Q Clearance
• DOE Q Clearance preferred
• Pre-employment drug screen and medical examinations may be required.
• Some roles may require DOE clearance-related WSAP program participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide process design support for the Lithium Processing Facility Project at Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.
• Develop flowsheets, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs; perform analyses and calculations.
• Prepare reports, studies, and Process Descriptions for design reviews.
