Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Chemical Engineer to join the Oak Ridge-based Y-12 National Security Complex project.

The role focuses on process design support for the Lithium Processing Facility, spanning from scope definition to detailed design. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience, be a US citizen with ability to obtain a government clearance, and be prepared to work in a highly regulated DOE environment within a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience required.
• US citizenship due to federal nature of work.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government clearance.
• Experience with chemical/process engineering for complex industrial/DOE-related projects.
• Experience with process design across multiple project phases.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and design criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support the Mechanical Project Design group at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.
• Provide process design support to the Lithium Processing Facility Project at the Plant.
• Assist in scope definition, feasibility studies, conceptual and preliminary/detailed designs.
• Perform flowsheet development (BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs), analyses, and Process Descriptions preparation.
