Job summary

Hensley CPA Firm PA in Frisco, Texas seeks an experienced CFO-level contributor to lead a portfolio of business clients with outsourced financial leadership. You’ll own engagements end-to-end, review monthly finances, supervise Client Managers, and deliver proactive tax planning and advisory services.

You will be the senior contact for high-level client matters, build trusted relationships with business owners, and help develop the next generation of CPAs within a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• CPA license or Enrolled Agent designation preferred; will consider highly experienced without designation
• 4–6 years of public accounting, including tax preparation and financial statement review
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading junior accounting staff
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; comfort with Canopy or similar practice management software
• Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication with non-accounting business owners
• Experience with construction, real estate, or manufacturing clients
• Familiarity with UltraTax CS or similar tax software
• Experience with firm tools like ADP RUN, Ramp, Onvio, SharePoint, or similar

Responsibilities

• Review monthly close work product for accuracy and quality
• Ensure management reports are issued by the 20th of each month
• Verify payroll reconciliations tie to the general ledger for all clients
• Review sales tax filings for accuracy; oversee timely filing
• Prepare and present S-Corp owner payroll calculations
• Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returns for clients
• Conduct year-round tax planning and communicate results to clients
• Coordinate with Tax Director on complex filings and multi-entity planning
• Lead client meetings to review financial performance and advisory recommendations
• Directly supervise Client Managers and mentor their development
• Monitor workload, project status, and engagement progress across the portfolio
• Provide technical direction and develop professional judgment of team members
• Escalate performance and workflow issues to leadership
