Qualifications

• Six or more years of relevant experience across public accounting, outsourced controller and CFO services, transaction advisory, or corporate accounting leadership.
• Demonstrated controller-level capability, including ownership of a close process.
• Substantive review experience and the ability to develop staff through the review process.
• Proven effectiveness in direct interaction with business owners and executive management.
• Strong technical accounting foundation in U.S. GAAP for privately held companies.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and quarterly close process for assigned clients, including review of the general ledger, accruals, account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and supporting workpapers
• Ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and defensible for use by ownership, boards, lenders, investors, and prospective acquirers
• Develop and maintain management reporting packages, including key performance indicators, dashboards, budget-to-actual analysis, cash forecasting, and accompanying analytical commentary
• Design and implement accounting processes, internal controls, and close calendars for clients whose finance infrastructure has not kept pace with the business
• Resolve technical accounting matters and coordinate with the firm's tax on matters requiring cross-divisional input
• Review Associate work product, including financial models, diligence schedules, reporting packages, and workpapers, for technical accuracy, completeness, and analytical sufficiency
• Direct and review first-line accounting work performed by the firm's general accounting team, and maintain standards for quality and turnaround
• Train and develop Associates through structured review, direct coaching, and progressive delegation of responsibility
• Scope engagements, allocate staffing, monitor budget and realization, and escalating matters affecting engagement economics or client service
• Lead recurring client meetings, present financial results, interpret performance trends, and recommend appropriate action
• Identify client needs across the division's practice areas and coordinate with the Director on scoping and expansion of services
• Support proposal development, engagement scoping, and onboarding of new clients
• Lead or support financial due diligence and quality of earnings engagements on both buy-side and sell-side mandates
• Review valuation analyses, transaction models, and net proceeds calculations
• Support commercial real estate underwriting, proforma review, lender and investor reporting, and capital events
• Prepare clients in advance of transactions through remediation of financial records and establishment of credible reporting
