Job summary

Techtronic Industries (TTI) Outdoor Products seeks a Sr. CFD Engineer with extensive aerodynamic system design and optimization experience using reduced order modeling and CFD.

You will optimize airflow for leaf blowers, lawn mowers, string trimmers, and other outdoor tools, supporting design optimization, acoustics, and stability analyses. In this role within the Advanced Analytical Engineering team, you will drive aerodynamics, rotor design, and aeroacoustics decisions while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS/PhD preferred).
• 5+ years of hands-on turbomachinery design and analysis experience.
• Expertise with commercial CFD software (ANSYS Fluent/CFX preferred).
• Experience designing rotor/stator systems for turbomachinery with strong aerodynamics/fluid mechanics background.
• Enthusiasm for simulation and collaborative work environment.
• Willingness to mentor junior engineers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert in CFD topics including turbulent flow, acoustics, and heat transfer.
• Design axial fan/stator systems to meet performance metrics using CFD and reduced order modeling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize product design for performance, size, cost, noise, and manufacturability.
• Develop and validate analytical models to predict system behaviors across operating conditions for tools with rotary components.
• Perform experimental testing of system components and full tools to validate models and refine design methods.
• Develop design optimization techniques to improve power, noise, and performance for consumer products.
• Model airflow in complex environments to improve flow, noise, and heat transfer.
