Job summary

Techtronic Industries (TTI) Outdoor Products seeks a Sr. CFD Engineer with extensive experience in aerodynamic system design and optimization using reduced order modeling and CFD.

This role focuses on airflow optimization for leaf blowers, lawn mowers, string trimmers, and other outdoor tools, including both steady-state design optimization and transient acoustics analysis. You will join the Advanced Analytical Engineering team, collaborating with project engineers across Outdoor Products.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; M.S./Ph.D. preferred.
• 5+ years hands-on turbomachinery design/analysis experience.
• Expertise with commercial CFD software (ANSYS Fluent or CFX).
• Design rotor/stator systems with strong aerodynamics background.
• Mentorship and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in CFD, turbulence modeling, acoustics, and heat transfer.
• Design axial fan/stator systems to meet performance metrics via CFD and ROM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize product design for performance, size, cost, and noise.
• Develop and validate analytical models to predict system behavior across operating conditions.
• Perform experimental testing to validate models and refine design methodologies.
• Develop design optimization techniques to improve power, noise, and performance.
