Job summary

Techtronic Industries (TTI) Outdoor Products is seeking a Sr. CFD Engineer in Anderson, SC to advance aerodynamic systems for leaf blowers, mowers and outdoor tools. You will lead CFD studies, ROM approaches, and acoustic analyses across a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires 5+ years in turbomachinery design, expertise with ANSYS Fluent/CFX, and strong communication. On-site collaboration with product teams focuses on performance, noise, and reliability of consumer outdoor equipment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required; MS/PhD preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on turbomachinery design and analysis experience with OEM/supplier/consumer products.
• Expertise with commercial CFD software (ANSYS Fluent or CFX preferred).
• Experience designing rotor/stator systems for turbomachinery and strong aerodynamics background.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert in CFD including turbulent flow, acoustics, and heat transfer.
• Design axial fan/stator systems to meet performance metrics using CFD and ROM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize product design for performance, size, cost, and noise.
• Develop and validate analytical models for various operating conditions across tools such as leaf blowers and lawn equipment.
• Perform experimental testing to validate models and refine methodologies.
• Develop design optimization techniques to improve power, noise, and performance metrics.
• Model airflow in complex environments to improve flow patterns, noise reduction, and heat transfer.
• Prepare detailed design docs and communicate results to stakeholders; mentor junior staff.
