In accordance with state and federal regulations, assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assists the pharmacist in other Pharmacy Department duties per Company policies and procedures.

Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assists and coaches pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy systems and cash register operations.

Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Job Responsibilities/Tasks

Customer Experience

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolves issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Shares customer service best practices to deliver a delightful experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develops strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and assisting with workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error policies.
• Handle sales registration and cash collection, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Assist in clinical services and coordinate with healthcare providers.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensure supplies are stocked and the area is clean.
• Follow all policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification, or earn it as a condition of promotion.
• Attend training, complete PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits.
• Require one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in English; willingness to work flexible hours; prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills and basic PC skills are preferred; knowledge of inventory control is a plus.

Basic Qualifications
