Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, is seeking a Sr. Ceramic Process Manufacturing Engineer in Asheville, NC, to lead development and qualification of new ceramic shell processes for nickel-based superalloys.

The role emphasizes project management, cross-functional collaboration, and readiness for production at the Asheville site. The candidate will drive shell line startup, ensure process quality, and mentor peers while advancing manufacturing technologies in a high-precision turbine engine component

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy focused on investment casting shell systems for nickel-based superalloys.
• Advanced degree in a related field with 5+ years' aerospace experience ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of shell systems for single-crystal nickel alloys.
• Ensure shell integrity through preheat, slurry rheology control, permeability, and dewax parameters.
• Collaborate with solidification engineers on shell compatibility and withdrawal profiles.
• Plan and execute shell line startup for single crystal airfoil casting process.
• Develop and deploy standardized engineering practices and tools.
