Pratt & Whitney, a RTX subsidiary, seeks an experienced Senior Casting Engineer for its Asheville, NC foundry. This on-site role focuses on single-crystal turbine airfoil casting, process development, and yield improvements in a high-precision environment.

You will mentor early-career engineers, drive metallurgy initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust SX/DS casting solutions for aerospace propulsion.

Formación

• Bachelor-level or higher with specialization in nickel-based superalloy metallurgy.
• 10+ years in aerospace investment casting of SX/DS turbine components (7+ with advanced degree).
• Mastery of solidification, defect prevention, and crystallographic control.
• Experience qualifying new casting equipment and supporting manufacturing readiness.

Responsabilidades

• Support metallurgical process development and qualification for SX airfoil casting.
• Optimize solidification parameters and grain orientation control.
• Provide direction on melt practices, alloy cleanliness, and mold/metal interfaces.
• Support equipment installation, testing and manufacturing readiness.
• Implement changes to meet cost, yield, and on-time delivery in foundries.
• Investigate defects and define corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers in casting metallurgy and process best practices.
• Collaborate with shell, melt, automation, and machining teams.
