Job summary

Copeland, based in Sidney, OH, is seeking a Lead Technician to design, develop and qualify Centrifugal HVACR laboratory work. The role collaborates with engineering and lab leadership to drive growth and innovation in centrifugal compressor labs.

The candidate should have an associate degree or technical certificate and at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

Associate degree or Certificate in technical discipline and 3+ years relevant experience.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate with lab groups and product engineering.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; basic lab log keeping.

Responsibilities

Assign project tasks to Centrifugal lab technicians to coordinate lean workflow and execution of priorities.
Communicate daily schedule and updates in stand-up meetings.
Maintain safe, clean work environment using 5S+1 and safety procedures.
Provide training and onboarding for new hires.
Offer performance coaching/mentoring to technicians.
Be proficient in system performance, test development, and assembly of compressor builds.
Support preventative maintenance and calibration plans.
Help with hands-on project work as needed.
