Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Mechanical Technician for the 1st shift in Sidney, OH. You will work with product engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems in a dedicated engineering laboratory environment.

You will install, test, and optimize compressor performance, operate data acquisition systems, and drive continuous lab process improvements while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2-3 years of experience in HVACR or related field.
• Basic HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills required.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• PC skills and MS Office experience are needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow engineering lab test instructions for performance and life tests on commercial stands.
• Set up and install compressors and related electronics for test purposes.
• Operate lab test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Fabricate test fixtures and controls for non-standard tests.
• Review test data for compliance with standards.
• Perform maintenance and upkeep of the lab.
• Communicate test results with engineers and suggest process improvements.
