Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an experienced Scheduler I/II to manage hospital outpatient tests and physician practice appointments. You will pre-register patients, secure necessary pre-certifications, and coordinate scheduling across multiple departments and systems to ensure accurate and timely patient care.

The role requires strong customer service, insurance knowledge, and intermediate computer skills, with 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Three years departmental/scheduling experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong insurance and precertification knowledge.
• Intermediate medical terminology.
• Demonstrates proficiency of all insurance requirements for outpatient tests and physician appointments.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules hospital outpatient tests and appointments for physician practices within multiple scheduling systems.
• Pre-registers all patients.
• Obtains and advises patients of all necessary pre-certification, and referrals for financial reimbursement.
• Coordinates dates and times per department and practice protocols.
• Acts as a resource for Scheduler I or II.
• Functions as a super user for all computer applications in scheduling systems.
• Trains new employees on multiple scheduling systems and supports them during probation.
• Liaises with hospital departments and physician practices.
• Notifies staff, patients, and departments of additions, changes, and cancellations.
