Job summary

CHEER, Inc. in Sussex County’s Greenwood, DE is seeking a Senior Activity Center Director to plan and supervise daily center activities, ensuring high-quality care for clients.

Responsibilities include calendar planning, resource management, meal coordination, volunteer supervision, data reporting, community outreach, fundraising, and staff training. CPR/First Aid/Serv Safe certifications are required on hire.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree with an emphasis in geriatric, social services or human services AND two years of supervisory experience.
• Two years of experience may be substituted for each year of education.
• Must acquire CPR, First Aid, and Serv Safe certification upon hire.
• Must have valid driver’s license, current Defensive Driving certificate, and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly activity calendar for the Center including guest speakers, trips and activities.
• Assure proper use of Center resources and adherence to procedures.
• Maintain inventory and repair records.
• Coordinate transportation needs of clients with drivers and Transportation Director.
• Oversee daily meals served and meals delivered to homebound clients.
• Plan and coordinate Center fundraisers and participate in agency events.
