Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Cell Therapy in the Central US. This field-based role serves as the local medical voice, building a strategy to improve patient care in hematology and myeloma while engaging with leading clinicians and ESEs.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in hematology/oncology with MSL experience, strong scientific communication skills, and the ability to navigate a matrixed organization. Domestic travel is required.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a health science or clinical discipline is required.
• 5+ years of hematology/oncology experience with field medical or similar role, preferably in cell therapy and/or multiple myeloma.
• Ability to distill complex scientific information into clear messages for internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience supporting development or launch of a new pharmaceutical product in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scientific relationships with hematology/cell therapy thought leaders and HCPs across territories.
• Engage in scientific exchanges with multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond to unsolicited requests for scientific and product information per company policy.
• Establish oneself as a trusted scientific advisor to internal and external stakeholders.
• Educate cell therapy provider teams on disease state, CAR-T mechanism, and management considerations.
• Support implementation of cell therapy infusions in infusion centers.
• Gather site-level insights and communicate with medical leadership and partners.
• Identify data gaps with External Scientific Experts to inform medical affairs strategy.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and R&D across functions.
