Job summary

Nyobolt in Bedford, MA is seeking a Senior Cell Development Engineer to advance high-charge-rate battery cells. You’ll design experiments, work with materials and cells, analyze data and determine why results occur, guiding next steps with scientists and technicians.

In this hands-on role you’ll develop cells, run DOEs, screen new materials and assess options for multiple applications, delivering clear reports and collaborating across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• MS in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline plus 3–5 years in battery industry; or
• PhD in a relevant discipline with 2+ years in battery industry.
• Strong practical experience in battery cell development and testing.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail; independent and team player.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze data and translate results into next steps.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day cell development programs and collaborate with engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to cell technology development, problem solving and optimization for new applications.
• Design and execute DOEs to support cell improvement and new designs.
• Support materials screening and cell design activities.
• Evaluate technology options against application requirements and map development pathways.
• Analyze experimental data to identify trends and opportunities, and prepare technical reports.
• Work with senior leadership to translate results into actionable steps.
• Collaborate across engineering, science and lab teams to meet deadlines and ensure lab readiness.
• Identify and escalate abnormalities in cells, materials, equipment and processes.
