Google is seeking a Battery Cell Engineer in Mountain View, CA, to lead NPI testing and supplier collaboration. You will shape cell chemistries, packaging concepts, and scalable manufacturing processes for high-performance devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience working in a battery engineering technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Minitab) for DOE, SPC, and process capability assessments.
• 2 years of experience with battery cyclers (e.g., Arbin, Maccor), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and related analytical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) build execution, oversee cell and pack-level testing at supplier sites and regional labs, and track testing KPIs for core engineering and battery leadership teams.
• Evaluate and qualify next-generation cell chemistries, advanced cell packaging architectures, and novel manufacturing technologies.
• Act as the primary battery technical lead partnering with internal engineering, operations, and external cell vendors to proactively resolve complex multi-disciplinary issues.
• Interface with research laboratories and innovative industry partners to explore emerging battery technologies and support technical regulatory inquiries.
• Architect Li-ion cell designs by translating MCOs into ERS, leading DFM reviews, and executing DOE to optimize cell parameters and manufacturing processes.
