Job summary

Dewberry invites you to join our CEI team in Florida as a Senior Project Engineer. You will lead the construction management and QA/QC efforts on FDOT projects, ensuring compliance with standards and on-time delivery for complex highway and bridge work.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, develop budgets and schedules, and advocate for safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer licensed in Florida or eligible within 6 months.
• 10 years of experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects.
• Prefer FDOT project experience.
• Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT.
• Working knowledge of FDOT construction and administrative procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of roadway construction elements including grading, drainage, paving, bridges, ITS and tolling.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead CEI project pursuits.
• Provide leadership to the construction management team.
• Lead continuous staff improvement and training.
• Prepare monthly project status reports.
• Manage and administer QA/QC program.
• Lead project progress meetings.
• Provide contract administrative support services.
• Oversee project inspectors and subconsultants.
• Evaluate project claims and delays; coordinate resolution with client.
• Develop cost estimates and budgets.
• Resolve project issues with the client.
