Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead CEI operations for FDOT pursuits across Florida. The role focuses on construction management and QA/QC under FDOT standards, coordinating staff and subconsultants, and delivering project reports.

The candidate will manage budgets, develop cost estimates, and foster strong relations with FDOT. Florida PE or eligibility within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or degree in related field.
• Professional Engineer in Florida, or ability to obtain in 6 months.
• 10 years’ experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects.
• Preferable experience with FDOT projects.
• Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong scheduling, cost estimating and contractor methods knowledge for roadway projects.

To expand our current CEI operations, Dewberry is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for FDOT CEI pursuits throughout Florida. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the construction management and quality control team in administering all aspects related to FDOT projects in accordance with FDOT standards and procedures.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• 10 years’ experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects
• Preferable experience with FDOT projects
• Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT
• Working knowledge of FDOT construction and administrative procedures and programs
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong command of construction scheduling, proposal development and contractor means and methods for typical roadway construction elements to include, clearing and grubbing, environmental, drainage, piling, drilled shafts, retaining walls, paving and pavement base, bridge construction, concrete, and asphalt, singing and lighting, ITS and tolling
• Strong critical thinking skills
