Job summary

Dewberry invites you to join our CEI team in Florida as a Senior Project Engineer. You will lead the construction management and QA/QC efforts on FDOT projects, ensuring compliance with standards and on-time delivery for complex highway and bridge work.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, develop budgets and schedules, and advocate for safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in Florida or eligible within 6 months.
  • 10 years of experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects.
  • Prefer FDOT project experience.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT.
  • Working knowledge of FDOT construction and administrative procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of roadway construction elements including grading, drainage, paving, bridges, ITS and tolling.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.

  • Prepare monthly project status reports.
  • Manage and administer QA/QC program.

Senior Project Engineer - CEI

To expand our current CEI operations, Dewberry is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for FDOT CEI pursuits throughout Florida. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the construction management and quality control team in administering all aspects related to FDOT projects in accordance with FDOT standards and procedures.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Civil Engineering degree or degree in related field
  • Professional Engineer in Florida, or ability to obtain in 6 months
  • 10 years' experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects
  • Preferable experience with FDOT projects
  • Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT
  • Working knowledge of FDOT construction and administrative procedures and programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong command of construction scheduling, proposal development and contractor means and methods for typical roadway construction elements to include, clearing and grubbing, environmental, drainage, piling, drilled shafts, retaining walls, paving and pavement base, bridge construction, concrete, and asphalt, singing and lighting, ITS and tolling
  • Strong critical thinking skills
